Fransson is a project by Lisa Jonsson and Anna Herrmann, two final year students in the design programme at Beckmans, which included a collaboration with Gärsnäs as part of their studies. The students were assigned the task of designing, from a sustainable perspective, a stackable stool as a flat-pack. While the work was in progress, including meetings with Gärsnäs staff and time in the factory, the students had their first experience of how production takes place. The result of the careful work and research by the students is Fransson, a stackable stool in pine, beech or walnut upholstered in fabric or leather.
Together with furniture by their fellow students for other producers, the new Fransson stool is on show at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Hear Us Out, Greenhouse C17:31.
