Gärsnäs will be exhibiting at the design festival 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen: 15–17 June 2022.
Three design days of living, buzzing, networking, surprising events and exhibitions in Copenhagen’s showrooms, boutiques, galleries, workshops and other meeting places. After two gloomy Covid years, the festival has chosen the theme “play”.
“Play is the most wonderful part of the creative process,” says designer Luca Nichetto who created the festival’s graphic profile. “Don’t forget to play” is also one of architect Alvar Aalto’s most famous quotes.
Gärsnäs will be showing its products along with eight other high-profile Swedish companies, including Källemo, Asplund, Swedese and Zero, as well as a group of young designers. The exhibit will be shown at the Lapidarium of Kings, a magical environment in central Copenhagen with a collection of stone sculptures and plaster models from royal palaces, buildings and parks. The 384 sculptures from the 16th–18th centuries are displayed in a 400-year-old bastion that later became a brewhouse for King Christian IV’s thirsty soldiers. What an exciting place to show furniture. How will contemporary Swedish furniture and lighting interact with giants from antiquity, Greek goddesses, busts of heroes and equine sculptures?
