26 September 2024 at the House of Gärsnäs, Skeppsholmen.
Time 5–7 pm. Conversation 5:30 pm.
Åke Axelsson (b. 1932) is the grand old man of Swedish interior architecture. He has worked with interiors, rooms and furniture since the late 1950s. Earlier this year, the book Åke Axelsson – Room for us all was published, which featured his assignments across 67 years, from 1957 to 2024.
Come to Skeppsholmen and meet Åke. Learn more about his work and furniture designs, as well as his long connection with Gärsnäs. For 20 years, Åke has been one of the owners of this family-owned company. Hear him in conversation with the book’s author Petter Eklund and graphic designer Maria Gaenger, who turned Åke’s archive into a beautiful book. Perhaps he will say something about his latest furniture creation, made in his own workshop. Many would certainly like to ask something. Ask away. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a moment with a true legend in the world of furniture making and interior design.
Warmly welcome!
