Paasitorni, the castle-like conference centre in Helsinki, has been renovated and modernised during 2019–20. The glamorous restaurant Paasiravintola seats over 300 people and needs to transform easily from day to night-time events. The need for flexibility demanded light and stackable chair. Gärsnäs Petite, designed by David Ericsson, was the perfect match. Several conference rooms were also equipped with Petite.
The building, known locally as the “granite fortress”, was designed by Karl Lindahl in the Finnish Art Nouveau style and opened in 1908 as a Workers’ House. The building is nominated as a UNESCO world heritage site. KOKO3 from Helsinki are the interior architects.
