Selling furniture is an art in itself. It is in John Granath’s blood. But it is not just about selling products, but also speaking about what makes Gärsnäs unique, the feeling of the brand and its history, and creating sustainability at every stage.
“Gärsnäs has a big place in my heart. Everyone in the furniture business knows what Gärsnäs is and the brand has a good reputation,” he says. He has just completed five years with interior design agency Senab, where he also sold Gärsnäs furniture. Now he gladly takes the step to join us and brings his curiosity. He will also be closer to the production side of things. “I would like to activate the factory more. It is the company’s greatest resource and accessible to visiting architects and retailers.”
John Granath grew up in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm. He started his sales career as a teenager, selling clothing at MQ. At 21, he was selling Toyotas. He studied management at Lund and became interested in sustainability and equality issues. At the same time, he worked extra at the Svenssons store in Malmö, then came his years at Senab, where he learned more about human resources and developing an office’s softer sides. “But for me, sales is so much fun…”.
John Granath lives in Malmö, but has recently bought a small summer house in the vicinity of Gärsnäs near Mälarhusen. “I’ll be working from home, travelling around, as well as being at the factory a lot and trying to build a bridge between the market and manufacturing. My best quality is being educational and acting as an ambassador. Now I can do that 100%.” Sounds exciting.
Welcome to Gärsnäs, John.
