Welcome Lina!

Lina Pedersen is our new retail and operation manager, among other things, at our “House of Gärsnäs” on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm. She has been working in the furniture business a long time and always had an eye on Gärsnäs as a leader in furniture production with its own factory and sustainability vision.

“It is our legacy and responsibility to safeguard Swedish craftsmanship and the environment. In a fickle society, Gärsnäs dares to take the initiative. These are exciting times for both Gärsnäs and the entire sector,” she says.

Lina grew up in Sunne, Värmland. After high school, she studied for a master’s programme in economics in Stockholm, focused on production technology and design. “I love details and learning everything about a piece of furniture: from initial concept to end product. I’ve always found it fascinating how interior design can create a feeling of well-being and peace; we really need such comforts at present.”

After graduation, Lina worked at ASPLUND and had close contact with customers, suppliers, factories and freight providers. “I learned a lot there about materials, quality and sustainability, but above all how important it is to think in the long-term.”

During the pandemic, the home has played an ever greater and more important role in our lives. Lina Pedersen is now a key figure in Gärsnäs’s sales to the private market where House of Gärsnäs, with its showroom, shop and gallery, will act as a meeting place. “I’m really looking forward to being part of this transformation together with Gärsnäs,” says Lina, who is currently busy with moving to the new premises. Already, she has a favourite. “David Ericsson’s lovely Madonna chair is unique and suits Gärsnäs retail sales very well.”
