Southern Swedish cuisine and furniture of the highest order. As restaurateur Daniel Berlin’s Vyn puts Österlen on the global gastronomic map, Gärsnäs is along for the adventure with a whole new series of furniture. It is designed by Anton Björsing.

SIMRIS SOFA AND EASY CHAIR

Development on the Simris sofa started once work on the Vyn chairs had commenced and restaurateur Daniel Berlin desired a sofa for the restaurant’s open lounge where the evenings begin. A suitable sofa was created. There were high prerequisites for comfort: not too hard, not too soft. Guests should be able to sit an hour or so before dinner.

“We were thinking stability, a heavy piece of furniture, like a big rock or those old farmyard sofas, but with that Gärsnäs touch,” says designer Anton Björsing.

Simris gets its character from the oak frame that encloses the seats and cushions. “Simris looks great from the front and the back. That’s rather important,” says Anton Björsing. The wooden details come from the Vyn chairs. Simris is available as a 1-2 or 3-seat model on a plinth base or legs. The 1-seater also works as an inviting easy chair.
